I really had high expectations for this book. The description of the book sounded interesting. A young lady who is being strongly encouraged by her father to marry a business partner of his meets a young man who comes to Seattle in search of his sister. The two are attracted to each other and wonder if this is true love.
I am sorry to say this story just fell flat. The story starts off with Lenore, the young lady being encouraged to marry by her father. Soon though it seems as if the main character in the story is Lenore’s friend Abrianna. Abrianna is a kind and sensitive girl who wants to make life better for the impoverished. She is escorted through the city streets by Wade, a friend who seems to want more than just friendship but doesn’t realize it yet. Lenore shows up sporadically in the book and then again becomes the main character towards the end of the book.
This book moved at such a slow pace and lacked direction. It felt like there were a lot of words and descriptions added in just to get the word count up. I found myself bored and not able to focus well at times. The book just didn’t grab and hold my attention. I was so excited to read this book by a new-to-me author who seemed highly recommended. I have other books by this author on my Kindle but after reading this one am in no hurry to read them.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
